Educational Specialist (EdS)
An Education Specialist degree program is designed for people who have completed a master's degree and wish to increase their skills for advanced certification requirements, career advancement or other professional objectives.
The EdS degree is the minimum preparation for school psychologists, school counselors and directors of special education in most states. An education specialist degree, like other six-year specialist degrees, is intermediate between a master's degree and a doctorate, and is the intermediate degree for many professionals who supervise master's level personnel.
