Student Appeal

Education at Brandman University is convenient, with year-round sessions, evening and online classes, and a 68% graduation rate. It is also valuable, as students learn with other adults and from skilled faculty with real-world experience, leading to a dynamic experience with abundance of networking opportunities. Courses are offered in 8-week year-round sessions. The institution offers credit for previous coursework and learning outside the classroom, in addition to personal, professional coaching to help students thrive in a learning- and resources-friendly environment.

Financial

Eligible students may receive financial aid through state and federal loans and grants, outside tuition assistance and additional aid sources. Students are encouraged to contact an advisor to learn more about financial aid.

BA in Applied Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in Applied Studies program prepares you to build upon your occupational or educational background to advance your career and educational goals. With courses in liberal studies, organizational leadership, computer information systems and sociology, the program offers a generalist's view of multiple specialties. Elective courses allow you to create a personalized degree while a unique capstone program provides an opportunity to showcase your professional expertise and proficiency.

BA in Early Childhood Development

Focusing on multidisciplinary coursework, the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Development program provides you with a broad understanding of appropriate practices in the development of young children; and prepares you to work with children and families in both social and educational settings. You will explore the cultural and social influences of the family and the community in the holistic development of young children. Upper division coursework encapsulates theory and research in the key areas of early literacy, preschool, first and second language acquisition, observation, assessment and intervention.

BA in Liberal Studies - Multiple Subjects Teaching

The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies - Multiple Subjects Teaching program exposes you to a comprehensive range of academic subjects and disciplines, including those subjects most commonly taught in California elementary schools. Major coursework allows for a personalized selection of emphasis areas to enhance your individual career growth, and is designed to prepare you for a teacher credential or for graduate studies.

Credential - Administrative Services (tier 1)

The Tier I Administrative Services Credential program mentors and prepares you to successfully assume the multiple leadership roles needed in school administration.

A selection of Tier I courses may be integrated into the Master of Arts in Education - Educational Leadership and Administration program.

Credential - Education Specialist Level II - Mild/Mod

Upon completion of the Education Specialist Instruction Credential, Preliminary, teachers must begin the Level II program no later than 120 days following initial employment on their Preliminary Credential, be employed as a full-time teacher for two years after receipt of their Preliminary Credential, and complete the Level II Credential within five years of completing the Preliminary Credential.

Brandman's Level II consists of portfolio and professional development, as well as advanced special education methods.

Credential - Multiple Subject Authorization

A Multiple Subject Credential Authorization is for students with a Single Subject Credential who want to add the authorization to teach at an elementary school. In just two classes, you can double your credentials and teach in both multiple and single subject environments.

Credential - Professional Clear, Multiple Subject

The preliminary teaching credential is issued for a maximum of five years. Completion of the requirements for the professional clear credential before the expiration of the preliminary credential enables you to continue to teach in California's public schools with that credential.

The Content area emphasis allows students to complete advanced courses in content strategies within the framework of a master's degree.

MA in Special Education - Early Childhood

The Early Childhood area emphasis allows students to complete courses addressing the needs of infants and preschoolers with disabilities within the framework of a master's degree.

MA in Special Education - Option II

There are two options for completing a Master of Arts in Special Education. Option 1 is geared toward students who hold a valid teaching credential or who complete education and special education prerequisites. Option 2 is intended for students who currently hold a Preliminary Education Specialist (Level I) credential and need to earn their Level 2.

The Master of Arts in Special Education does not meet the preliminary credential requirements for you to teach in California public schools.

MA in Special Education - Professional Learning Community

The Master of Arts in Education - Professional Learning Community Emphasis is designed for educators whose goal is to work collaboratively to enhance their effectiveness as professionals in order to positively impact learning.

MA in Teaching - Elementary Education

The Master of Arts in Teaching, Elementary Education program is a unique program that provides you with the tools necessary to become a successful, well-rounded, and competent instructor. You'll become a master of multiple subjects at the elementary school level, emerging as a certified teacher who understands that the role of teacher extends far beyond being a source of academic information.

The elementary education program includes the required coursework for a 2042 Multiple Subject credential preparing you to teach all subjects in a California self-contained classroom (K-12).

MA in Teaching - Secondary Education

As a student of the Master of Arts in Teaching, Secondary Education program, you will become competent and qualified to teach a single subject at the secondary school level, but will also come to appreciate and understand the highly influential role of a teacher in the lives of students.

The secondary education program includes the required coursework for a 2042 Single Subject credential, preparing you to teach in a specific content area (K-12).
