Preschool teachers act as coaches and facilitators, serving as models for children. Students will learn to teach young children how to read, write and do basic mathematics. They will also help them develop socially by instructing them in forming good relationships. As teachers, students will be responsible for reporting a child's progress to the parents and the program supervisors. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded an associate's degree. Program Features:
Lead Teacher CertificateBack to topThe Lead Teacher Certificate program at Hesser College gives students who want to make a difference with children a comprehensive and well-balanced course of study that prepares them to work with children, ages birth to 8 years, in various settings. Early childhood teachers are professionals who help guide and shape young children, serve as role models and support parents. The growing number of working parents has created a greater need for skilled caregivers of young children. Guided by enthusiastic professionals, Hesser students will explore many avenues and projects through hands-on, lab-based curriculum courses and 80 contact hours with children in licensed childcare facilities or the facility in which the students are currently employed.
