Bachelor's in Education

Teacher education at Ashford University prepares students for rewarding careers as professional educators. Students desiring to teach kindergarten through grade six will major in elementary education. Those preparing to teach seventh through twelfth grades will select a major related to the content area they wish to teach, while also taking a substantial number of education and education-related courses. The teacher education program at the University is committed to preparing professional educators who are not only academically sound and skilled in reflective teaching methodology, but who are also prepared to create safe and caring classroom environments in which mutual respect is demonstrated. The program is designed to help candidates develop skills in active non-violence and dispositions of reverence and respect for diversity and individuality.
