Masters of Science in Education

The Masters of Science in Education distance program has proudly served students for ten years. In that time, the program has graduated just under 1700 students. Thus the program brings with it significant experience in delivering quality, flexible and practical learning experiences to its students.

University of New England offers four innovative Master of Science in Education programs completely online in the following concentrations:

  • Curriculum and Instruction Strategies is for those K-12 educators who wish to strengthen their classroom practice. Challenging areas of literacy, inclusion and educational leadership build skills to implement solutions in and beyond the classroom.
  • Educational Leadership is designed for K-12 educators considering school administration. These courses are matched to the national standards set by the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC).
  • Inclusion Education provides for K-12 classroom teachers and administrators with critical theory and practice related to special education inclusion.
  • Literacy (K-12) is designed for K-12 educators with an interest in reading and writing to ensure student success.

This master's program offers you the opportunity to study, reflect and improve professional practice based on the most recent educational research related to instructional and leadership strategies. The program will build confidence and enhance professional skills.

Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) - Advanced Educational Leadership

A 30-credit CAGS is offered in Advanced Educational Leadership to professional educators who are pursuing upper-level school administrator positions.

This program has been designed to offer high-quality, cost-effective and innovative curricula delivered through an online, internet format.

Applications for admission are accepted six times annually. Students in the Master of Science in Education and CAGS program may qualify for federal financial aid and/or private student loans. This means that you can concentrate on your education now without having to pay out-of-pocket.

The 15-credit Graduate Certificates are ideal for those professional educators who need additional college credit to qualify for the next pay grade or would like to expand their knowledge.

  • The Curriculum & Instruction Strategies (15 hours) concentration is for those K-12 educators who wish to focus on strengthening their classroom in the challenging areas of literacy and inclusion with a course on educational leadership to build skills for implementing solutions beyond the classroom.
  • The Educational Leadership (15 hours) concentration is designed for K-12 educators who are considering school administration.
  • The Inclusion Education (15 hours) concentration is designed for those regular educators, both teachers and administrators, who wish to have more background in special education with respect to inclusion practices and concerns.
  • The Literacy (K-12) (15 hours) concentration is designed for those K-12 educators who wish to delve deeper into the importance of reading and writing for all students to be successful.
