Established in 2005, The School of Design and Media reflects the continued growth of Philadelphia University, both in the number of students enrolled and the types of academic programs offered, as we prepare students for new realities of the digital age. Master of Science in Instructional Design & TechnologyFor over 20 years, the Instructional Design & Technology program at Philadelphia University has helped teachers and trainers integrate current and emerging technology into classrooms and workplace environments. With its careful balance of theory and practice, our Master of Science degree is specifically designed to meet the real needs of working adults. All courses are delivered in the evening or online so students can choose between full- and part-time enrollment as their schedules permit. All three of our degree options prepare candidates to design and develop effective solutions to instructional problems. The Instructional Design track culminates in a two-semester project where teams of students design and develop computer-based instruction for real-world clients. The Systems Integration option includes the programming and database skills necessary for back-end development of instructional solutions, while the Instructional Technology Specialist option prepares candidates to advise administrative staff on the application of instructional technology into curricular planning and instructional design.
